    Take an A4 piece of paper and put it landscape. Now rule six fairly even columns. Rule a line in the middle of the page so that there are now 2 rows. Now cut the piece of paper up to the crease on each line so that there are now 6 flaps. On each of these flaps, write the order of operations (in order) from left to right. under these

    "BIDMAS!" yelled teacher
    Voice loud like chimes,
    Know what comes
    Definition:
    The order of operations is a rule used to clarify which procedures should be performed
    first
    Subtraction or times...
    Or division, or adding, or any old math
    If you can't learn your BIDMAS,
    You can't pass my class!!! Fail to do this, you will feel my wrath!hiiihihihhihhihihihih
    Brackets first,
    Subtracting is last...
    Multiplication, Division,
    in a given mathematical expression.
    The vote has been cast...I for indices
    Now let us say, three to
    Elements There are six elements in the powerorder of two
    Easy enough?
    I think so too!
    What Order of Operations Basically is:
    Order of operations (OoO for short) is basically BIDMAS.
    BIDMAS:
    operations.
    B = Brackets
    I = Indices
    ...
    A = Addition
    S = Subtraction
    Brackets:
    Brackets simply look like this: ( ). Brackets don't just look like that in an equation.Brackets have to go around an element of an equation: i.e. 9 + (8-3).
    DID YOU KNOW: Brackets also have other uses in algebra?

    Thanks Lee
    I will definitely take your comment into account. I think that maybe I could have ordered the powtoon video/slideshow after the information, maybe because people might find it easier to read than watch? Thanks for the feedback. We might come up with a new design/ layout for our wiki pages but we will wait and see.
    Cheers

    Thanks for the advice, and I think that by knowing this our next post will be better than this one if we use the new knowledge about the wiki pages.

    Good work, though be careful that your individual voice doesn't overshadow your content. People are reading your site to learn about the topic. While it is okay to display this in a humorous manner be sure you language doesn't distract. Your principal goal is to inform. It's ok to entertain along the way, just make sure you get the balance right. Ask yourself if someone new to your topic read and worked their way through your information how well informed would they come away?

    Information reports contain often contain:
    a definition
    a description of components or parts
    the operation - how it works
    the application - where and when you'd use it
    special features
    They also use:
    subject-specific terms and technical vocabulary
    simple present tense
    linking words to show cause and effect

    . Also within your page you should feature the elements of a procedure, the method to working through a factor tree should be explained as a detailed logical sequence.

    Also look at your layout. How well constructed is the sequence and presentation of your information? Is the knowledge built up step by step? Are their any gaps? Looking back over it is there anything you feel the reader needs to know that isn't there?

    Finally as it is online it is easy to provide links to other activities and resources. A word of caution though, it is easy to create a long, long list of links. While al may seem relevant too long a list will turn people off. Keep you list small and relevant.
